The Senior Regulatory Compliance Manager is responsible for leading regulatory compliance activities across E.ON Next and is responsible for supporting the wider E. ON Next organisation with regulatory advice, making sure it is coherent, consistent and complete. This role may focus on consumer protections, environmental and social schemes, commercial areas and/or industry codes and will be cross-functional in nature. They will manage a small team.


Here’s a taste of what you’ll be doing:


  • Provide consistent, practical regulatory advice across E.ON Next to ensure understanding and compliance with obligations.
  • Build and maintain constructive relationships with Ofgem and other key external stakeholders to support E.ON’s regulatory reputation.
  • Lead regulatory responses and submissions, coordinating cross-functional insights for clear, high-quality outputs.
  • Interpret data to identify key issues and develop innovative solutions to complex regulatory challenges.
  • Promote regulatory awareness and knowledge sharing across teams to empower colleagues and support compliance.
  • Assess regulatory risks and change initiatives, recommending aligned, people-focused solutions.
  • Manage and develop a small regulatory team, fostering talent and ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Lead on formal and informal regulatory responses to consultations, requests for information and compliance engagement from Ofgem and other industry stakeholders such as DESNZ, Energy UK, Citizens Advice and the ASA, bringing together different voices and insights to produce clear, accurate and high-quality submissions.

  • You are an experienced retail regulatory compliance professional with a detailed knowledge and understanding of the supplier licence conditions and a passion for making a difference through meaningful work.
  • You’re a clear and engaging communicator who can build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and external partners alike.
  • You have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to digest, interpret and clearly explain complex regulatory positions to a range of stakeholders at all levels.
  • You have the ability to analyse and interpret complex data in order to identify emerging trends or issues and take appropriate action.
  • You lead with empathy and confidence, creating inclusive and psychologically safe environments.
  • You’re adaptable and resilient when managing competing priorities taking a calm, pragmatic approach.
  • You have experience mentoring or managing others and enjoy helping people grow.
  • You’re detail-oriented and values-driven, with strong judgment and integrity.



It would be great if you had:


  • Knowledge of key industry players including Ofgem, DESNZ, Energy UK, and Citizens Advice.
  • Experience of navigating complex regulatory environments thoughtfully and with resilience.
  • A background in policy development, consultation responses or regulatory change.
  • A collaborative mindset with a flair for creative problem-solving.
  • Experience working in cross-functional environments, ideally in the energy or utilities sector.
  • A strong sense of purpose and a passion for sustainability and social impact.
