Job Summary
You will be a key part of the small, focused Retail, Leisure and Hospitality team, primarily responsible for leasing. You will work closely with asset management, investment and development colleagues responsible for the 1.3m sq ft retail, leisure and hospitality portfolio primarily within Canary Wharf and Wood Wharf.
You will be part of, and in majority of cases lead, detailed negotiations with existing and prospective customers including many of the UK’s most prominent operators and across the full spectrum of the retail, leisure and hospitality sectors.
Annual salary: circa £65k, dependent on experience

Main Responsibilities
- A leading role in creating and implementing an effective leasing strategy based upon market information, insights and data, appropriate for our target consumers to enhance the appeal of Canary Wharf.
- Identifying new trends, uses, attractions, categories and food types to widen the appeal of the offer.
- Responsible for leading negotiations and/or supporting colleagues, with a wide variety of potential occupiers to create best value for the Canary Wharf portfolio including opportunities including long term lettings, trial and pop up licenses, and meanwhile uses.
- Identifying and meeting with wide variety of retail, food and leisure potential tenants to discuss respective business goals, requirements, branding and commercial terms.
- Attending leasing meetings and managing leasing agent relationships and delivery, monitoring and enhancing their performance.
- Providing clear direction to external and internal leasing, retail projects and legal teams to achieve agreed objectives.
- Tracking performance of the retail leasing strategy against the business plan, raising areas of concern such as delays, creating a plan and finding solutions to mitigate risks.
- Work with Marketing on creating successful B2B and B2C strategies, developing aligned marketing collateral.
- Providing recommendations for appraisals in conjunction with finance and investment colleagues, provide to management as required.
Working With The Asset Management Team To
- provide detailed market information and agree clear strategies to add value to the area and improve performance.
- identify issues with performance provide advice on options and provide recommendations/instructions to external agents to enhance asset management.
- identify opportunities to repurpose space and introduce new use types and attractions.
Working With Investment, Development And Planning Teams To
- identify repurposing opportunities and provide market intel on retail and leisure elements of larger developments.
- identify smaller infill development opportunities, appraise them, lease them and work with retail projects to deliver them within budget.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
- Must have some experience of leasing and/or Agency within Retail/Leisure Real Estate Sector.
- Passionate about retail, leisure with an aptitude to understand and analyse concepts quickly.
- Demonstrable negotiation skills are essential, with the ability to secure favorable lease terms and resolve conflicts effectively.
- An understanding of the retail real estate market, including market trends, tenant needs, and competitive landscape.
- Ability to analyse market data, financial reports, and leasing performance metrics to inform strategic decisions.
- Ability to manage multiple leasing projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and successful completion.
- Experience in working closely with asset management, investment, and development teams.
- Demonstrates a commitment to taking ownership of tasks and responsibilities, ensuring high-quality service delivery that exceeds expectations.
- High attention to detail, with the ability to review and prepare accurate lease agreements and documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and persuasively to stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with tenants, industry professionals, and internal teams.
