Senior Risk Manager

Our client, a well-established InsurTech, is on a mission to make financial decision-making simple, accessible, and effective for everyone. They are seeking a Senior Manager in Risk to lead their Risk team, provide strategic oversight, and ensure the business achieves its ambitions safely and at pace.

Role Purpose:

The Senior Manager will lead the Risk function to ensure the company operates within a robust risk and control framework, provide proactive Second Line of Defence (SLOD) oversight, and deliver actionable insights and challenge to support decision-making across operations, change initiatives, and strategic plans.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and key stakeholders across the business.
• Lead and develop a high-performing Risk team, providing tailored and insightful guidance.
• Design, implement, and maintain robust risk frameworks, processes, and reporting to embed a strong risk culture.
• Produce actionable insights for the first line of defence, including risk assessments, evolving risk profiles, and external intelligence.

Skills & Experience:

• Demonstrated expertise in establishing, implementing, and embedding robust risk frameworks and governance processes.
• Significant background in Second Line of Defence risk functions, preferably within financial services.
• Proven track record in leading, motivating, and managing high-performing teams.
• Deep understanding of complex organisational structures and operational models.
• Strong analytical and evidence-driven approach to identifying and solving problems.
• Highly developed communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively at all levels.
