The role:

The main purpose is to deliver a comprehensive financial risk assurance plan for key legal entities in the Group.

What you'll be doing: inancial Risk Management and Oversight

  • Manage the delivery of Operational Risk Assessments for Group and relevant entities
  • Maintain a Solvency / Capital assessment framework
  • Own the delivery of dividend assessments for relevant entities, which will determine risk and compliances support for intra-group or external dividends.
  • Developing strategic insights on capital and liquidity risks for legal entities. This will identify suitable financial resources for legal entities to retain to remain within risk appetite and provide Executives and Boards with appropriate assurance over the legal entity's financial resilience.
  • Deliver Recovery and Wind-Down plans supporting the Group and legal entities, which are strategically important for ensuring the Group has the financial resources and operational capabilities to wind-down in a way which minuses harm to clients.
  • Deliver ORSA and ICARA processes (incl. stress & scenario testing, and reverse stress testing) and annual and ad-hoc Summary reports for relevant boards
  • Provide technical financial risk knowledge in the drafting of risk reviews of proposals which have a significant financial impact.
  • Providing risk assurance relating to Partner lending activity
  • Managing model risk management oversight

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with functional teams (Finance, Partner Finance) and the business and business risk management teams to ensure a cross-functional approach to risk identification and mitigation.
  • Engage with business leadership to present findings, recommendations, and risk assessments.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the business, ensuring that they are fully aware of their risk management responsibilities and that a strong risk culture is embedded across the firm.
  • Foster relationships with industry bodies, to keep abreast of changes in regulatory requirements and emerging risks.
  • Promote the embedding of an appropriate risk culture across the business

Governance, Regulatory and Compliance Risk

  • Ensure compliance with local and international regulatory requirements related to financial risks.
  • Oversee the preparation, review and submission of relevant regulatory risk reports and risk-related disclosures.
  • Maintain awareness of new regulatory developments, ensuring that changes are embedded within the company’s risk and control frameworks.
  • Support the development of appropriate risk policies and procedures in line with best practices and legal standards.

Who we're looking for:

We’re seeking a technically skilled risk professional with deep knowledge of financial risk within financial services. You will be comfortable presenting to senior leaders and influencing capital and dividend strategy.

Essential Criteria

  • Experience in a 2nd line financial risk function.
  • Strong understanding of capital and liquidity risk.
  • Proven experience with ORSA, ICARA, and Recovery planning.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience with model risk management.

Desirable Criteria

  • Professional qualification in financial or actuarial risk.
  • Background in dividend risk oversight.

Special Requirements:

Externally recognised professional qualifications in Actuarial or Financial risk management, or similar.
