Position Summary
As an Equipment Engineer, you’ll support the Manufacturing and Process Engineering teams at the Caswell Wafer Fab site. Your role includes day-to-day equipment maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repair. You'll lead initiatives to improve uptime and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), work with hazardous chemical processes, and potentially use self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).
Key Responsibilities
- Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on semiconductor processing equipment.
- Manage chemicals, gases, spare parts, and waste handling.
- Train and mentor junior engineers and technicians.
- Collaborate with suppliers, oversee contractors, and develop maintenance strategies.
- Lead Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives to maximize equipment utilization and uptime.
- Drive key improvement projects, ensuring timely completion, and report on equipment performance and project metrics.
- Attend production, planning, and scrap meetings as the equipment team representative.
- Ensure critical spare parts are managed in collaboration with the supply chain team.
- Adhere to safety and environmental procedures and support emergency response efforts.
- Provide shift cover as needed.
Qualification
- HNC/HND or Degree in engineering, or 10 years of relevant experience
.Essential Skills
- Minimum of 5 years in semiconductor manufacturing
- Ability to work independently and document procedures
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Experience working in teams and managing stakeholders
.Desirable Skills
- Experience with semiconductor equipment from vendors such as ASML, Trikon/SPTS, OiPT, Palomar, Temscal, Leybold, Leica, and SemiTool.

- Flexible working hours, including potential shift work
- Willingness to work in a cleanroom environment
- Self-motivated, with excellent communication skills in English
- Must be eligible to work in the UK and able to commute to the Caswell site, which is not accessible via public transport
