About the role

We are looking for a Senior SRE Engineer to join our expanding Software Engineering team at Click Dealer. This is an exciting new role reporting directly to the Head of Engineering with immediate hands-on responsibilities but also offers the opportunity to be coached and developed into a lead role and receive support while taking a lead on some key strategic projects. We are looking for someone to contribute new ideas and suggest improvements, collaborating with a cross - functional team as we look to mature and scale our solutions to support the growing business.

You will be part of an experienced Engineering team building our core software & websites for our customers. The SRE team are responsible for all infrastructure, security and support to ensure our customer products are live in production 24/7 - we count on our site reliability engineers to empower users with a rich feature set, high availability, and stellar performance levels to pursue their goals.

Summary of role objectives:

• Working across multiple projects from our SRE strategy that focuses on maturity, scalability, resilience, security and automation.
• Manage and maintain environments to ensure high availability and security.
• Build and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) solutions using tools like Terraform
• Manage AWS services – monitoring, investigating and fixing any issues if they arise.
• Manage and optimise Kubernetes clusters for efficiency, stability and high availability.
• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery, maturing our current approaches.
• Collaborating with other SRE engineers to ensure resilience and scalability across the platform.
• Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large-scale distributed software applications supporting out-of-hours changes where necessary.

Essential skills required:

• Extensive experience working within a DevOps or SRE role
• Significant experience of AWS and its services, particularly IAM, S3, EKS, Networking.
• Knowledge of as Docker & Kubernetes containerisation and orchestration tools such
• Good experience of Terraform, Ansible & CDK IaC tools.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, and Grafana and managing this in production software.
• Working with CI/CD pipelines and tools
• Experience of building & implementing automated processes

Desirable Skills required:

• CloudFlare – exposure to this or similar in securing websites
• Database technology, e.g. MySQL & Postgres – awareness to support DBA
• Serverless computing – exposure and understanding

Location - the role is hybrid with the requirement to visit our Stoke office one day every 2 weeks for our Engineering meetings with the flexibility for home or office the rest of the time.
