Senior Developer – Dynamics 365 CRM (Customer Insights Journeys + Azure)

Fully Remote

6 Months Contract - Inside IR35

Must be eligible for BPSS and SC Clearance

We are looking for a Senior Developer with strong expertise in Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement, Customer Insights, Journeys, and Azure services to design, develop, and optimise marketing automation and real-time customer engagement solutions.

In this role, you will build and configure advanced segmentation, real-time journeys, event orchestration, and integration capabilities while ensuring high deliverability, performance, and scalability across marketing and customer experience platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Design and build Customer Insights (CI) segments, KPIs, measures, calculated attributes, and real-time event rules

Implement real-time journeys, including:

Event-based triggers
Audience selection
Conditional branches
Wait conditions
Personalisation
Suppression logic

Configure and manage communication channels:

Email – Domain setup, DKIM/SPF/DMARC configuration, link tracking, bounce and complaint management
SMS – Provider configuration, character encoding, delivery reporting, and monitoring

Set up and manage event ingestion via:

Dataverse triggers
Custom events
Azure Functions
Azure Event Grid

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to:

Journey failures
Email delivery blocks
Segment refresh delays
Event mapping and orchestration errors
Support A/B testing, journey analytics, and performance optimisation
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate CRM with external systems and marketing platforms
Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with consent and data protection requirements

Skills & Experience

5+ years of experience with Dynamics 365 CE and/or Power Platform development
Hands-on experience with Customer Insights – Journeys (segments and real-time journeys)
Strong experience with Azure services, including Azure Functions and/or Logic Apps for event-based integration

Solid understanding of:

Email deliverability best practices

Throttling and rate limits

Consent management

Marketing automation logic

Experience with API integrations, Dataverse, and event-driven architectures

Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to debug complex journey or integration issue
