Job Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 therapist who has experience of working with voice and upper airway disorders to join our team! This is to cover a member of the team who has received a research grant. Although this is a fixed term position of 18 hours for 30 months we hope to be able to extend this in due course if desired by the post holder. We would also be willing to hear from experienced band 6 applications interested in a developmental post.

Main duties of the job
The role involves planning and providing therapy to an adult and paediatric upper airway/voice caseloads as well as supporting consultant run joint voice and intervention clinics. We hold in-person voice therapy clinics across our patch and this currently includes: Wexham Park Hospital (Slough), King Edward Hospital (Windsor), and Farnham Hospital (Farnham). There may be opportunities for clinics on other sites including Maidenhead (Berkshire) or Fleet (Surrey). There also may be opportunity for virtual clinics during the week. You will be based within a very friendly and supportive team of outpatient speech and language therapists as well as having connection with the inpatient team who work at Wexham Park Hospital and Frimley Park Hospital sites.

Essential criteria
- Degree in SLT
- HCPC registration
- Clear application with relevant detail included
- Extensive specialist clinical experience with complex case management in upper airway and voice
- Evidence of maintaining clinical competence and keeping up to date with clinical developments.
- Knowledge of National policies and procedures relevant to specialist area.
- Able to build effective working relationships, network and assert views, sometime in challenging situations.
- Experience of working in an MDT clinic with ENT/respiratory consultants
Desirable criteria
- RCSLT member
- Experience of scoping
- Active involvement in specialist clinical support networks
- Experience of providing SLT leadership at joint clinics
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Degree in Speech and Language Therapy
- HCPC Registration
- Membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists
- Extensive evidence of maintaining and developing clinical skills and theoretical knowledge in specialist field through further study/short courses etc.
Desirable criteria
- Relevant further studies to Masters level
Skills & Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Excellent oral and written communication skills – both informally and formally via presentations/training.
- Standard keyboard and IT skills
- Significant experience of designing, implementing and evaluating training packages to others.
- Significant experience of student clinical supervision.
- Evidence of coaching/developing reflective clinical practice in less experienced staff.
Desirable criteria
- Good working knowledge of software such as Excel and PowerPoint.
