Job Overview

This post is a Secondment for 12 months due to secondment cover.

An exciting Secondment opportunity has arisen for a Full Time Band 6 Junior Sister/Senior Staff Nurse on Panto Ward.

Pantomine Ward (Gastroenterology and Liver diseases).

The ward has achieved silver accreditation and prides itself on developmental opportunities and learning. Teamwork is paramount within the ward and staff are passionate about implementing changes for exceptional patient care.

The unit works closely with all members of the MDT focusing on effective and safe discharge of our patients. We provide the unique opportunity to work within different areas to develop and extend skills and knowledge in a supported environment.

Main duties of the job

Takes responsibility for a ward or equivalent sphere of nursing, in the absence of the person who has continuing (24 hour) responsibility at Band 7.

Responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluating programmes of care. Responsible for managing a group of staff in the absence of the Ward Sister.
r>You will be supported by the Ward Manager, Practice Development Nurse and Matron to undertake professional and personal development opportunities, and be supported to undertake postgraduate academic courses.

The ward offers different learning opportunities as well as a chance to develop management and leadership skills.

The post holders will be expected to deliver care of the highest standard and work closely with other members of the multi-disciplinary team. As a Clinical Sister / Charge Nurse you will ensure that you carry out clinical practice within designated clinical areas, ensuring that high qualities, current evidence-based nursing assessment, care planning, implementation, interventions and evaluations for patients is provided from admission through to discharge.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
