How we work:
We follow a hybrid working model, spending an average of
three days per week at our office location. The office is located in Gresham Street next to St Paul’s cathedral with easy access and transport links via St Paul’s, Bank, Cannon Street, City Thameslink, Liverpool Street, Farringdon, Mansion House.
Role Summary
This role sits in the Group Finance function of the Paysafe Group, a fast-growing dynamic Fintech business.
Reporting to the VP, Accounting & SEC Reporting, the London-based role requires an individual with robust knowledge of IFRS and UK / international statutory financial reporting requirements as well as a strong understanding of FCA rules and regulatory reporting requirements.
The role will be expected to lead on all aspects of our statutory financial reporting and support regulatory reporting. This role will be acting as informal supervisor of financial reporting accountants.
The successful candidate will gain exposure to a variety of functions across Group Finance and the wider Paysafe group including the Group’s senior management, divisional controllers, legal, treasury and tax.
This role would suit an individual who has previously worked in a company subject to statutory financial reporting and FCA regulatory requirements, or an individual from a big 4 accountancy practice with sufficient exposure to clients operating in a regulated environment (manager level or above if directly from an accounting firm).
- Statutory / Financial Reporting:
- Provide oversight over the timely completion of all subsidiary statutory reporting requirements, including tracking, monitoring and communication of status.
- Manage and oversee processes and controls over the preparation of annual statutory accounts for multiple subsidiary legal entities.
- Lead day-to-day activities of the statutory financial reporting ream, collaborating with business unit teams and cross-functional teams such as Tax, Treasury, Legal, Risk, etc. to gather required information.
- Oversee the review and challenge process of annual accounts prior to delivery to external auditors, ensuring quality and facilitating resolution of review comments and finalization procedures.
- Manage relationship with Workiva (financial reporting tool) contact and provide guidance and support to the team responsible for the day-to-day management of Workiva access and documentation, including providing training to new users.
- Act as key owner for subsidiary (mainly corporate entities) statutory audits, coordinating timelines, monitoring progress, facilitating requests and queries, and supporting complex in technical accounting analysis.
- Collaborate with ESG and Legal team in understanding and assessing applicable climate-related reporting and disclosures for Paysafe Group and in scope subsidiary legal entities, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
- Non-statutory reporting:
- Manage and lead team in ensuring all required statistics / surveys are completed and submitted in a timely manner.
- Provide support for ad hoc requests for non-statutory financial reports and information from various teams.
- Restructuring and other non-routine transactions:
- Support and lead certain accounting projects / transactions and other non-routine transactions, collaborating with cross functional teams in assessing accounting implications including pro forma journals, eliminations, disclosures, documentation and preparation of management reports.
- Participation in LERG (Legal Entity Rationalization Group) initiatives and assist with financial information or reporting (i.e. management accounts, technical accounting, etc.), including supporting in the liquidation process of entities identified for liquidation.
- Support Treasury team in the review and sign off of new or amended intercompany loan agreements.
- Provide support in ad hoc technical accounting analysis and memos.
- Regulatory financial reporting:
- Provide review and challenge on key annual and quarterly regulatory returns to FCA across all 3 UK regulated entities, ensuring consistency and alignment.
- Review guidance documentation of processes and controls over key annual and quarterly regulatory returns.
Skills And Experience
- 7-10 years of experience on Senior Manager level
- Qualified ACA or ACCA
- Exposure to FCA rules (example CASS, CRDIV etc) and reporting – preference for industry experience
- Robust knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP, as well as UK Company law relevant to financial reporting
- Good understanding of financial controls
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint skills
- Workiva experience is a plus
