Description

About us

As a member of the ISD Enterprise Architecture function, you will work closely with the Student Experience team, other service teams, and external partners to develop a comprehensive and robust architecture that supports our Student Experience services.

This role helps establish an architectural vision that effectively integrates Enterprise services with Student Experience architecture to enable world-class delivery at UCL. You will act as an advocate for Student Experience communities within UCL's broader enterprise IT landscape, co-designing road maps that help position UCL as a sector leader.

About the role

Within ISD, Enterprise Architecture works broadly across UCL to understand the organisation, its strategies, motivations, systems, processes, and data.

The Senior Student Architect will work with the UCL delivery community analysing gaps, deficiencies, and opportunities predominantly, but not always, in the student space.

You will establish current state, develop common understanding of the future state, and help produce road maps that move our university towards our shared goals.

About you

You will have the ability to develop a broad understanding of UCL and apply this insight thoughtfully when defining strategies, shaping road maps, and making design decisions. Understanding the impact of your plans on students, research, and the wider university will be key.

We are seeking an individual with strong technical expertise and experience in IT and Enterprise Architecture, along with a proven track record in influencing and project delivery. As a key link between Enterprise Architecture and Student Services, you will need to build relationships across UCL with a diverse range of stakeholders, understand both strategic and operational service requirements, and design architectures that meet those needs.

You may have extensive experience with Student Experience infrastructure and technologies, perhaps gained in a product owner, application, or technology role.
