Job title: Senior Systems Engineer– Communications

Salary: Up to £52,000 (dependent on skills and experience)
What You’ll Be Doing
- Working with the Type 26 Comms team and the supplier to resolve technical issues and queries impacting systems integration, Setting to Work and acceptance
- Review and maintain the Communications System architecture using tools such as System Architect
- Provide, review and update interface specifications in accordance with stakeholder requirements
- Provide SME support for integration and setting to work
- Working with key stakeholders to ensure physical integration of Comms equipment to the ship to support the ship build programme
- Attending Ship to ensure dependencies for the Communications installation, setting to work and trials program are in place
- Ensure Assurance & Acceptance Evidence is collected for the equipment during the programme Inc. OEM HAT/SAT
- Ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures
- Good contributor to a team-based working environment
Essential
Your skills and experiences:
- Good understanding of Engineering and Project Lifecycle Management including System development lifecycle
- Degree in engineering or scientific discipline, or equivalent experience
- Hands-on technical experience in systems engineering including communications and IT networking
- Knowledge & experience of delivering software led systems
- Experience of functional integration and systems trials
Desirable
- Knowledge and/or experience of Communications or Complex systems on other RN platforms
- Experience of Export Control (ITAR)
- Strong communication and relationship building skills to liaise with all stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to participate and contribute to technical discussions with the wider team including external OEM’s

The Combat Systems Team
As a Senior Systems Engineer – Communications, you will be a key team member of the Communications Team. Working with the Type 26 Comms team Technical Leads, Supplier and Customer stakeholders in line with Combat Systems process and policies to achieve the delivery of the T26 Communications System. This role requires good communication with other disciplines/teams to influence delivery of the Comms Systems into the Type 26 platform.
