Kennedys is looking for a Senior Talent Manager to join our HR team based in Manchester or London.
The Senior Talent Manager leads in the development, retention and engagement of legal and professional talent at the firm. This position partners closely with firm leadership, in conjunction with HR Business Partners, to develop and lead the approach to talent development, professional skills development, culture initiatives, and engagement, across the UK and EMEA regions.
Key Responsibilities
- Talent Development
- Lead on the design of the approach to performance management, including overseeing the delivery of performance review processes for all UK and EMEA population
- Lead on the design of talent management and succession planning tools and activities
- Partner with HR Business Partners and the business in delivery of all performance and talent related activity
- Monitor engagement and retention data and develop targeted retention strategies
Professional Skills Development And Training
- Lead on the design and delivery of professional skills development programmes for Partners, lawyers and Business Services professionals, including leadership development programmes
- Monitor and support career progression, including overseeing delivery of mentoring and coaching programmes
- Ensure the alignment of learning initiatives with Firm strategy and objectives
- Oversee the delivery of targeted skills programmes for apprentices and graduates
Culture and Engagement
- Play a key role in developing a culture of sustainable high performance, including leading initiatives that reinforce Firm values
- Facilitate a feedback and listening culture through leading the engagement strategy for the UK and EMEA
- Support the HR Business Partners in developing targeted activity to improve engagement
- Work with the DE&I and Wellbeing Leads on the design and delivery of DE&I and Wellbeing education programmes
Other Key Activity
- Support lateral Partner integration and contribute to Partner succession planning efforts
Required Experience
- Proven experience of leading talent teams within a professional services or matrixed organisation
- Proven experience of designing and rolling out performance and talent initiatives
- Experience of leading culture initiatives which create meaningful change
- Strong commercial acumen and experience influencing senior stakeholders
- Strategic mindset and strong problem solving and change management skills
- Excellent interpersonal, influencing and communication skills enabling strong relationships with senior level stakeholders
- High emotional intelligence and empathy, and demonstrable ability to create a positive and inclusive team environment
