Senior Technical Accountant

JSS are working with a leading Lloyd's insurer for a Senior Technical Accountant. Supporting the Reinsurance team, the successful candidate will be responsible for processing insurance and reinsurance accounts, reconciling and settling balances.

The key responsibilities of the role are:

• Act as a focal point for inwards treaty reinsurance technical accounts matters across the group.
• Process and reconcile insurance accounts written via the international offices.
• Ensure timely and accurate settlement of premium and claims in accordance with treaty terms, escalating to Underwriters on an annual and quarterly basis.
• Reconcile accounts and resolve complex discrepancies in collaboration with Brokers, Underwriters and Claims.
• Liaise with outsource providers in terms of timely allocation of Accounts Receivables.
• Monitor and contribute to meeting KPI’s in terms of the reduction of aged debt and unallocated cash within the group.
• Supporting change projects in the finance operations team to develop the Reinsurance reporting.
• To develop, implement and maintain processes provide reports to the Credit Control Manager regarding activities undertaken.
• Drive and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives surrounding processes in relation to the reduction of aged debt, unallocated cash and queries specific to proportional treaty accounting.

The successful candidate will:

• Reinsurance and insurance market knowledge, via Lloyd’s an insurance or broker.
• Extensive technical accounting experience within the reinsurance / insurance sector.
