Brief Description
Wessex Inner Delivery Unit (DU) Electrification & Plant (E&P) situates two operational depots Raynes Park ECR & Woking Stable block, the depots collectively provide the maintenance function for both Conductor Rail Equipment - 3rd Rail (CRE) & Distribution 'Substations' & Plant (D&P). The business area is looking to employ a Senior Technical Officer to support the maintenance function within the (E&P) technical team; working alongside a Principal Technical Officer & Technical Officer, reporting to the Assistant Electrification & Plant Engineer.
About The Role (External)
Key Accountabilities
- Carry out work safely and in accordance with the safe systems of work procedures, method statements, plans and other instructions.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, i.e. Life Saving Rules.
- Manage and check the quality of work delivered by Conductor Rail Equipment (CRE) & Distribution & Plant (D&P) maintenance teams and confirm assets are compliant to standards.
- Organise/Assist delivery of E&P projects, provide support to maintenance.
- Provide technical support through systems, i.e. Intelligent Infrastructure & AIVR
- Design, install, test and commission equipment.
- Undertake and supervise technical tasks, survey and design work. (CRE & D&P)
- Undertake technical E&P inspections, tests, investigations and analysis of technical data.
- Oversee management of E&P Share points and Audit data.
- Prepare specifications and requisition for AC/DC equipment, i.e. Protection Relays.
- Manage information to update systems, databases and records.
- Contribute to your own development and that of others within E&P discipline.
Experience, Skills, Knowledge And Competencies.
- Knowledge and experience of electrification and plant maintenance process, systems and standards.
- Knowledge and experience of electrification and plant maintenance and construction management process, systems and standards.
- Knowledge of design requirements, processes and techniques.
- Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Able to coach, influence and develop others.
- Hold and retain the competencies relevant to this post and required by business need i.e. PTS, Level C (access & egress to Distribution locations).
- Ideally hold or be working towards and NVQ level 3 (or HNC/HTQ) in an engineering discipline.
- Able and willing to drive vehicles as required by business need.
Desirable experience:
Understanding of electrical principles, i.e. Kirchhoff circuit laws, Circuit analysis, Distribution Networks & 3phase fault levels.
