Brief Description
What will you be doing?
We are looking for a SeniorTechnical Officer to provide technical support and assurance for projects delivered by the Works Delivery Track Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the safe and efficient delivery of track infrastructure projects.
About The Role (External)
Key Accountabilities:
- Carry out work safely and in accordance with the safe systems of work procedures, method statements, plans and other instructions.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures
- Manage and check the quality of work delivered and confirm assets are compliant to standards
- Manage the preparation of work and resource specifications, method statements and plans.
- Provide technical support and guidance
- Design, install, test and commission equipment.
- Undertake and supervise technical tasks, survey and design work.
- Undertake and supervise technical inspections, tests, investigations and analysis of technical data
- Prioritise work arising and agree work plans for the group.
- Prepare specifications and requisition for materials.
- Manage processes and systems for the calibration and certification of tools and equipment.
- Manage information to update systems, databases and records.
- Contribute to your own development and that of others.
- Provide technical support and assurance for track-related projects.
- Review and analyse technical paperwork and data to ensure compliance with relevant standards.
- Experience in developing and maintaining power BI solutions, including dashboards and reports as well as other data tools.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure technical accuracy and quality.
- Support continuous improvement through data-driven insights and reporting.
Experience, skills, knowledge and competencies :
- Knowledge of technical support activities and techniques.
- Knowledge and experience of electrification and plant maintenance and construction management process, systems and standards.
- Knowledge of design requirements, processes and techniques.
- Able to demonstrate, promote and embed safe working behaviours within the team.
- Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Able to coach, influence and develop others.
- Hold and retain the competencies relevant to this post and required by business need.
- Ideally hold or be working towards and NVQ level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) in an engineering/leadership subject.
- Able and willing to drive vehicles as required by business need.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of track engineering standards and assurance processes.
- Experience working in a rail or infrastructure project environment.
- Experience or strong interest in technical support activities and techniques related to track construction.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation and standards.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge and experience of Design and Construction of track standards.
- Proficiency in IT systems, particularly Power BI, Excel, and data analysis tools.
