Senior Tester – Infrastructure & Cloud Projects

London (Hybrid: 3 days office / 2 days home) | Permanent

£55,000-£60,000

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Tester to join a busy technology team working on a range of large-scale infrastructure projects. This role will suit someone with strong hands-on testing skills who can work confidently across multiple teams and suppliers, and who’s looking to step up into a more senior position.

What you’ll be doing

• Developing and executing test plans for infrastructure projects, covering on-premise and cloud environments.
• Carrying out functional and non-functional testing, including regression, integration and UAT.
• Creating and maintaining manual and automated test cases.
• Logging and tracking defects, retesting fixes and ensuring timely resolution.
• Working with business analysts, project managers, suppliers and technical teams to embed testing into project delivery.
• Supporting business users through acceptance testing and providing clear test reporting.
• Helping to improve processes, documentation and overall testing standards.
• Keeping up to date with industry practices and tools.

What we’re looking for

• 5+ years’ testing experience across functional and non-functional areas.
• Solid background in infrastructure testing – servers, storage, networks (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi), Active Directory, firewalls/security.
• Experience of cloud migrations or data centre relocations.
• Knowledge of disaster recovery testing.
• Good understanding of test management tools such as Jira, Confluence or Azure DevOps.
• ISTQB qualified (or similar).
• Comfortable working in both Agile and Waterfall environments.
• Strong communication skills – able to explain issues clearly to both technical and business teams.

Desirable

• Some exposure to automation frameworks for infrastructure testing.
• Experience working with outsourced or third-party suppliers.
• An eye for exploratory testing and usability.

Working pattern

This employer operates a 60/40 hybrid model – typically three days in the office, two from home. Offices are open five days a week for those who prefer more time on site.
