Senior Treasury Analyst

About the team:

The Group Treasury is responsible for managing the Interest Rate, Basis and Liquidity Risk of the bank. This role will be an integral part of a small team charged with monitoring these risks and execution of financial instruments, within the market, to mitigate them.

What you will be doing:

The key purpose of this role is to provide analysis for the optimisation of Cash Management, Liquidity and Funding within the Treasury Front Office. Through ownership and development of reporting, deal execution, market insights and balance sheet analysis.

Your responsibilities will include…

• Analysing the bank's liquidity and funding positions and advising on the wholesale and retail funding strategy to stay within limits and avoid liquidity surplus
• Communicating insights and business intelligence to key stakeholders and committees
• Developing excellent relationships with market counterparties to ensure good primary and secondary market access for securitisation purchases
• Liaising with back office to ensure effective and efficient end to end execution
• Providing joint support in the execution of interest rate hedging analysis and transactions including dealing interest rate swaps
• Structuring of hedging strategies for debt and ABS issuance
• Assisting in the management of the Treasury Liquidity Portfolio, providing analysis on counterparty exposures, performance updates, risk/return metric tracking and propose strategies for its optimisation
• Contributing to the development of the Quantum treasury management system and Focus ALM
• Providing support and coaching to the Treasury Front Office Analysts

Do you have the skills?

We are looking for talented individuals who have the experience and knowledge set out below:

• Essential experience:
  • Working in a Treasury Front Office role preferably in a UK bank
  • A clear understanding of Asset Liability Management (ALM) or Interest Rate Risk (IRR) in a Banking environment
  • Production of meaningful MI for high level committees
  • Trade execution of IRS, ABS and SSA including asset swaps
  • Clear understanding of financial mathematics for instruments used in the management of the risks outlined above
  • Advanced practical knowledge of MS Excel is essential

• Bachelor's degree in a business related or numerate subject, work experience to replicate this would be considered
• Qualifications such as Cert BALM or CFA would be advantageous
