This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding team within the Nottingham Clinical Trials Unit (NCTU). As Senior Trial Manager, you will support the Director of the NCTU and the Operations Team in developing and running our expanding programme of high-quality clinical trials of national and international relevance.
This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding team within the Nottingham Clinical Trials Unit (NCTU). You will support the Director of the NCTU and the Operations Team in developing and running our expanding programme of high-quality clinical trials of national and international relevance.
You will be part of a multidisciplinary NCTU project development team that supports chief investigators in developing their trial protocol and preparing high quality grant applications. A significant responsibility is to lead a team of trial management staff responsible for the delivery of a portfolio of clinical trial projects. You will work closely with the other team leaders to provide effective oversight of NCTU operational management, ensuring efficient and timely project delivery and publication. Over time, you will be encouraged to develop a portfolio of trial methodology-related research.
You should have PhD or equivalent and/or degree in health-related sciences or extensive experience in clinical trials research. You must also have excellent project management skills, be an effective people manager, and possess a breadth of knowledge and expertise in the design, conduct and delivery of trials. In addition, an ability to communicate and work effectively across different disciplines is essential.

This role is available on a fixed-term contract until 30 June 2026. Working Hours are full time, 36.25 hours per week. If you are interested in part-time work (minimum 29 hours per week), we encourage you to apply. Please specify your preferred hours in your application. We may also consider job share arrangements.
