The Creative team is a collaborative group of problem-solvers that partner with people across Marketing and the wider business on a varied range of activities. We work on anything from brand identity, product marketing and performance campaigns to physical brand environments, responsive web experiences, and bespoke pitches.
Web Design Manager
The Web Design Manager is a key role in Marketing at Checkout. The role requires high visual standards, great attention to detail, deep technical knowledge, and exceptional collaboration skills. The Web Design Manager sits within Creative, alongside other designers, writers and operations roles, but also works within the Content & Web team on a daily basis. This hybrid responsibility will further strengthen existing collaboration between Creative and Content & Web.
Core responsibilities
- Web Design & Development:
- Leading the design and maintenance of Checkout.com's main website and any other owned web experiences
- Collaborating closely with Content & Web team to identify the right priorities for our web experience, aligned to our Web Roadmap
- Managing the end-to-end design process, including ideation, UX/UI design, prototyping, development process, and supporting our development team
- User Experience & Interface (UX/UI):
- Conducting competitive analysis and market research.
- Creating intuitive user flows, wireframes, mockups, prototypes.
- Overseeing iterative design improvements and optimization, based on insights
- Collaboration:
- Collaborating effortlessly with other creatives, marketers, content writers, product managers, events team, and key stakeholders across the business
- Ensuring project deliverables align with timelines, budgets, and business objectives.
- Supporting Content & Web team in developing design solutions effectively
- Be a subject matter expert for colleagues across Marketing, offering guidance and advice when needed
- Managing Web Design:
- Own web design as a discipline, exploring innovative design solutions to enhance user engagement and conversion rates.
- Identify and implement best practice where needed
- Manage workload autonomously, with close alignment to the Web roadmap and Creative priorities
- Collaboration & Training:
- Mentoring and training designers on tools like Webflow
- Conducting workshops and educational sessions for teams on UX/UI fundamentals, editor-level web management, AI tools for web.

- Knowledge of HTML, CSS & Javascript a plus
