ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Head of Product & Insights - Ostomy, the Senior Product Manager – Wound will be focused on unlocking the potential of our first-to-market wound drainage pouches. The strategic plan will act as a guide, however there will be scope for review and shaping, before starting the execution. This role can be based in either Cardiff or Comber, Northern Ireland.


Identifying new growth opportunities in the form of new application areas or challenging existing barriers will be critical to success. The successful candidate will be analytical, and comfortable in devising best practice for the sales cycle of wound pouches and their accessories. They will be a skilled communicator, able to translate this into tangible actions for our commercial teams and markets. On an individual level, there will be a need for personal drive to launch and experiment with new initiatives, evaluate them critically, and pivot as necessary.


Spending time with our product users in their clinical environments, will contribute to building our understanding of how we can fully realise the potential of this range. Strong collaboration with in-house teams, will also be necessary to adjust our approach as required and ensure a culture of user-based approach to messaging, communicating and developing our product propositions.


Supporting and managing this product category through all stages of the product lifecycle, from NPD to maintenance in market, also forms a key part of this role, maximising revenue, profit, market share and user experience.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy Validation & Evolution

  • Take ownership of the existing corporate strategy and validate it through market insight, stakeholder engagement, and frontline feedback.
  • Use these inputs to evolve the plan into a clear, focused strategy for execution.


Commercial Enablement & Training

  • Lead training for field teams to ensure they understand not just the product (and accompanying accessories), but the problem it solves and how to communicate that effectively.
  • Support regional teams with tools, insight, and education to drive confident, clinically grounded conversations.
  • Support objection handling and facilitate adoption in market, build confidence in the sales cycle. Identify and justify the need for additional evidence if necessary (ie. Health economics)


Credible, Leading Clinical Voice

  • Build relationships with KOLs in wound & fistula care.
  • Keep abreast of developments within the market and share knowledge in-house.
  • Identify and justify any need for additional evidence if necessary (ie. Product claims)


User Understanding & Product Expertise

  • Spend time in clinical environments to build deep, first-hand understanding of user needs and pain points.
  • Become the internal product expert, championing usability, clinical value, and the user experience.


Positioning & Value Communication

  • Work closely with Brand to translate user understanding into sharp, resonant positioning that enables differentiation and adoption.
  • Guide messaging and value proposition refinement to ensure alignment with what matters most to customers.


Product Lifecycle & Future Innovation

  • Lead the full product lifecycle — from insight and positioning through to commercial performance and in-market improvement.
  • Collaborate with R&D to identify and shape meaningful innovations that support long-term growth, as well as supporting current CI through to completion.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Essential

  • Demonstrable experience in wound and fistula care, gained through clinical use or through commercial roles involving close collaboration with healthcare professionals.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within the healthcare or medical device industry, preferably with exposure to ostomy, wound and fistula care.
  • Comfortable working in the field to gather insight and shape future direction based on real-world needs.
  • A strategic thinker, with a can-do attitude, and an ability to bring the strategy to life.
  • Entrepreneurial self-starter who can shape what’s next for our Wound category, experiment with direction, and bring others on the journey.
  • Commercial acumen and a persuasive ability
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build positive relationships with colleagues and external partners.


Desirable

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • International experience
  • Multilingual or fluent in additional languages, particularly those relevant to our key markets (e.g. French, German)
