Title: Sensor Operator

Reports to: ISR Sensor Operator

Work Arrangement: Hybrid with domestic and international travel as required

Group Overview

Special Air Missions Group (SAM) is responsible for developing and delivering Metrea’s Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR), Special Mobility, and Aerial Firefighting (AFF) capabilities. SAM oversees the integration of new mission systems, ensuring operational readiness across specialized aviation operations. It manages fleet maintenance, regulatory compliance, and strategic partnerships to enhance mission effectiveness. By consolidating expertise and infrastructure, SAM ensures Metrea’s airborne capabilities remain adaptable and mission-ready across dynamic operational environments.

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced ISR Sensor Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in operating and managing mission systems, with a strong understanding of Tactical Assault Kit (TAK), mesh networks, radar technologies, and radio communication systems. This role demands expertise in employing Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) across both maritime and land domains, catering to sensitive customers' operational needs.

Role And Responsibilities

  • Operate and manage ISR mission systems, including but not limited to TAK, mesh networks, radar, and radios, ensuring optimal functionality and performance.
  • Execute ISR missions across maritime and land domains, adhering to strict operational protocols.
  • Employ TTPs effectively to gather, analyse, and disseminate actionable intelligence for sensitive customers.
  • Monitor and interpret sensor data, providing real-time analysis and contributing to operational decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to plan and execute missions in alignment with operational objectives.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot mission systems to ensure operational readiness at all times.
  • Document mission activities, including reports and analysis, ensuring accuracy and compliance with operational standards.

Skills And Experience

  • Proven experience as an ISR Sensor Operator or similar role in a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with mission systems, particularly TAK, mesh networks, radar, and radio communication systems.
  • Familiarity with various TTPs used in intelligence gathering and reconnaissance in both maritime and land domains.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret sensor data effectively.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and high-pressure environment, adhering to strict operational guidelines.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and convey critical information.
  • Security clearance or ability to obtain one, due to the sensitive nature of the work.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Additional certifications or training related to ISR operations and mission systems.
  • Experience working with sensitive or classified information in a secure environment.
  • Proficiency in multiple languages may be advantageous, depending on operational requirements.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time non-exempt position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with department and business needs. Exempt Employees must have the ability to be on-call and available, as business needs require. Non-Exempt employees may be required to work over 37.5 hours per week with approval from the department manager.
