Contract Type: Permanent

Working Hours: 37 hours per week

Worker Type: Hybrid Worker (two days in the office and three days remote working)

Salary: Starting Salary is £26,824 (Level one) rising to £27,694 (Level 3) per annum ‘pro rata for part-time’

About The Role

This role sits within the Education Administration Team, part of the Education Hub and the wider Service Delivery Directorate, which provides a variety of functions supporting the City Council’s Education Division.

As a Service Delivery Officer Level 3, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality administrative and business support. In particular, you will support the Schools and Education Safeguarding Co-ordinator, with a focus on managing the administration of safeguarding training and wider education safeguarding activity.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Co-ordinating and administering the schools safeguarding training programme, including timetabling, booking, and arranging sessions.
  • Acting as a point of contact for local authority schools (maintained and academies), responding to safeguarding enquiries and managing bookings.
  • Providing administrative support for multi-agency meetings, including preparing and circulating agendas, reports and minutes, and arranging venues.
  • Assisting in the organisation of events, training, and other education service functions.
  • Maintaining and developing communication channels for schools, including the Schools Extranet, Board websites, newsletters and training materials.
  • Managing and maintaining accurate electronic and paper records, databases and management information to support reporting and compliance.
  • Preparing reports, data analysis and presentations to support the safeguarding offer and other service delivery needs.
  • Supporting the induction of colleagues and board members by ensuring clear administrative arrangements.

This role also carries the wider responsibilities of a Service Delivery Officer, including:

  • Handling customer enquiries, signposting and resolving queries.
  • Supporting financial processes such as procurement activities and budget monitoring.
  • Assisting with service improvement projects, identifying opportunities for innovation and efficiency.

The role may require flexibility to work across multiple sites and occasionally outside of normal office hours to meet service needs.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong administrative and organisational skills, able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills, with confidence in liaising with schools, partners and colleagues.
  • A proactive approach to problem solving, innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of business support and financial administration processes.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and service-specific systems.
  • Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of work.

A DBS basic check for a regulated activity is required for this post.
