Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Service Manager to lead our service operations. This role is responsible for managing the day-to-day service function, providing first-line technical support to customers and engineers, and ensuring our fleet of cranes and related equipment is maintained to the highest standards of safety, reliability, and compliance.
The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating service activities, managing engineers and yard personnel, controlling service budgets, and maintaining health and safety standards.
Whilst this role shall be predominantly depot based, you may be required to travel to client’s sites from time to time.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide first-line technical support to customers, service engineers, and internal teams, focusing on resolution of technical issues or breakdowns.
• Manage and coordinate service engineers and yard personnel, ensuring efficient scheduling and productivity.
• Oversee the maintenance and servicing to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
• Ensure all equipment and operations comply with health & safety regulations and company policies.
• Manage service department budgets, including maintenance costs, repairs, and resource allocation.
• Monitor service performance and implement improvements to increase operational efficiency.
• Maintain accurate service records, maintenance documentation, and compliance reports.
• Work closely with operations and sales teams to support project requirements.

• Recognised engineering qualification / background
• Technical Ability – Mechanical and Electrical
• Project Management experience
• Previous experience of Construction Plant or Similar is an advantage
• Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to respond quickly to changing priorities and operational demands.
• High level of Inter-Personal Skills and ability to influence and negotiate
• Computer Literate
• Good Written and Verbal Communication Skills
• Can do Positive Attitude
• Possession of a Valid Driving Licence
