Job Purpose
The Water quality Maintenance Team are a service provider carrying out the maintenance & cleaning of all clean water assets, Service Reservoirs & Contact Tanks from Crewe to Carlisle. The team complete the Inspections of the tanks, manage any remedial works required. The team also plan the clean & sampling of the assets. The program is an end to end program of maintenance & cleaning all managed by the team. The work is challenging but rewarding, varied with plenty of scope to progress. The role is 50% office based, 50% onsite managing construction work which Includes entering confined space tanks deep underground. Confined space training and working from height will need to be completed as part of the role profile.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, delivery, and continuous improvement of the Service Reservoir (SR) cleaning, inspection, and remedial works programme, ensuring alignment with performance targets and service level agreements.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and resources, including SR cleaning teams, inspectors, technicians, and contractors, while managing scheduling, procurement, and shared budget responsibilities.
- Produce and manage high-quality data and reports, including programme analytics, investment tracking, and KPI reporting, ensuring accurate and timely information is available to stakeholders.
- Act as a key liaison and stakeholder manager, maintaining strong relationships with internal teams (e.g. Engineering, Finance, HR), external partners, and senior leadership to support programme delivery and innovation.
- Support construction management and technical delivery of non-core water network projects, promoting world-class health and safety, customer satisfaction, and efficient, compliant project outcomes.
Technical Skills & Experience
- Demonstrates strong planning, project management, and analytical skills, with the ability to manage conflicting priorities, large datasets, and deliver results in a fast-paced, operational environment.
- Possesses operational knowledge across Network, Process, and Aqueducts teams, with a solid understanding of regulatory, statutory, and business drivers related to Service Reservoirs and water network operations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building effective relationships across all levels and departments, and presenting technical information in a clear, business-relevant manner.
- Proficient in IT systems, including Microsoft Office (especially Excel), GIS, and internal scheduling tools, with knowledge of procurement, budget management, and financial planning processes.
- Commercially aware and customer-focused, with experience in water operations and network management, ideally supported by or working towards a financial or project management qualification.
