SharePoint Developer – Communication Sites & User Experience

We are looking for an experienced SharePoint Developer to design and build multiple SharePoint communication sites based on defined business requirements. The role will focus on creating user-friendly, intuitive sites that support clear communication, easy navigation, and effective content consumption.

The SharePoint Developer will work closely with Power Apps developers to ensure sites deliver the required functionality and integrate seamlessly with wider Microsoft Power Platform solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain multiple SharePoint communication sites.

• Translate business requirements into clear, intuitive, and user-friendly site designs.

• Develop site structures, navigation, page layouts, and content components that enhance usability and engagement.

• Configure SharePoint features (lists, libraries, web parts, permissions, metadata, search).

• Work closely with Power Apps developers to integrate apps and ensure end-to-end functionality.

• Ensure consistency across sites in line with agreed standards, branding, and accessibility requirements.

• Optimise performance and usability, reducing friction for end users.

• Support testing, iteration, and refinement based on user feedback.

• Produce light documentation to support handover and ongoing maintenance.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience developing SharePoint Online communication sites.

• Strong understanding of SharePoint site architecture, permissions, and governance.

• Experience translating business requirements into effective user experiences.

• Working knowledge of the Microsoft Power Platform, particularly Power Apps (ability to collaborate effectively with developers).

• Strong UX mindset with attention to usability, navigation, and content design.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple sites in parallel.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Power Automate.

• Understanding of accessibility standards (e.g. WCAG).

• Experience working in large or complex organisations.

• Familiarity with SharePoint Framework (SPFx).
