Overview
The London Borough of Harrow is seeking a Sheltered Housing Scheme Coordinator to deliver an enhanced housing management service to tenants living in sheltered accommodation. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of service in accordance with regulatory and contractual obligations, as well as internal policies and procedures. This role requires a flexible approach to ensure both individual and communal needs are met, while promoting independence, offering choice, and upholding the privacy and dignity of all residents.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety requirements of Sheltered Housing schemes.
- Working knowledge of risk assessments and risk management.
- Understanding of equalities issues.
- Ability to organise and prioritise workload and act promptly in urgent situations.
- Literacy and numeracy skills to understand written instructions and complete forms.
- Significant experience in a similar role working with older people.
- Experience of developing risk assessments.
- Experience of working on own initiative with minimum supervision.
- Ability to communicate and liaise effectively with colleagues, Tenants & their carers, other Council Departments and external agencies.
- Excellent time management skills, enabling effective use of time with a minimum of supervision.
- Awareness of safeguarding, lone working and customer care issues and a commitment to providing high quality services in a way that meets customer needs.
- Ability to visit Sheltered Housing schemes across the borough
