We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced clinical leader to join our team of highly experienced nurses as the band 7 Sister/ Charge Nurse for Ellis Ward. Ellis Ward is a 14 bedded unit on the Chelsea site caring for patients undergoing surgery, systemic anti-cancer therapies, radiotherapy as well as supportive care treatments, for a variety of different cancer types, with a specialisation in Gynaecological, GI and breast patients. The successful candidate will be a proactive and motivated oncology nurse with dynamic leadership skills, demonstrating the ability to manage the service in line with trust values as well as show a vision for service development in order to optimise high quality patient care delivery.
To create and maintain a safe, therapeutic clinical environment for all patients and their families who come to the area. To co-ordinate all functions and activities proactively within the designated clinical environment (including those involving outlying private patients).To develop an understanding of managing a shift with the guidance of the Ward/Departmental Sister/Charge Nurse.
To manage resources of clinical area within budgetary limitations e.g. Finance, equipment and staff (including temporary staff)
To provide strong clinical leadership of the nursing and support workers that is motivating, supportive and sets clear boundaries resulting I high quality safe patient care.
To support a clinical learning environment that enables nursing staff to develop professionally and promotes the use of evidence in practice.
