Description
Are you ready to take the next step in your emergency nursing career? We are looking for a dynamic, compassionate, and experienced registered nurse to join our fast-paced Emergency Department as a Band 6.

As a Band 6 in ED, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care across all areas of the department, including triage, minors, majors, resus, and paediatrics. You’ll support the coordination of patient flow, support leading clinical shifts, mentor junior staff, and contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives.

This is an exciting opportunity for a confident and clinically skilled nurse who thrives in a high-pressure environment and is committed to maintaining excellent standards of care, even at times of operational challenge. In return, we offer robust professional development support, including access to advanced training and leadership opportunities.

If you're passionate about emergency care and ready to lead by example, we would love to hear from you.

🔹 Main Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients across all areas of the Emergency Department, including minors, majors, resuscitation, and paediatrics.
  • Act as a clinical leader and role model, supporting the safe delivery of care and the coordination of patient flow during shifts.
  • Undertake triage and initial assessment of patients, identifying those at risk of deterioration and initiating appropriate interventions.
  • Support and supervise junior staff, students, and newly qualified nurses, promoting a positive learning environment.
  • Participate in audits, quality improvement projects, and service development initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and experience.
  • Escalate concerns appropriately and contribute to clinical decision-making and safe discharge planning.
  • Contribute to effective team working, communication, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
  • Supporting the Senior Team by assisting with staffing, escalations, and operational awareness.
  • Maintain own professional development and compliance with mandatory training, revalidation, and clinical competencies.
