What is the overall job?

Responsibilities

Based in Head Office and reporting to the Project Engineer/Management Team the site engineer will aid in design, manage and monitor Temporary works as well as Erections and Dismantles of Tower Cranes and Hoists and provide technical/quality guidance and dimensional control where required. Other key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensures engineering support requested is provided to the Plant and Equipment Team.
  • Ensures quality assurance processes and standards for a construction project are adhered to.
  • Monitors changes to engineering and temporary works design whilst being mindful of budgetary requirements.
  • Complies with the company's management system policies and procedures.
  • Contributes to improvement of existing designs.
  • Manages and resolves engineering issues as and when requested by others.
  • Inspects the work of prior sub-contractors for technical compliance, dimensional accuracy and quality of work.
  • Checks and tracks information for completeness and correctness following up with RFI's when and where required

What do I need to be successful in this role?

  • Experience of similar type of construction works
  • Knowledge of relevant standards and codes of practice
  • Ability to use modern surveying instruments.
  • Computer and AutoCAD literate
  • Ability to work to deadlines and conflicting priorities
  • Excellent telephone manner and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to learn and apply new procedures quickly and efficiently
  • Ability to work in pressurised environment;
