About the Project
Net Zero Teesside Power is the world’s first commercial-scale gas-fired power station with carbon capture and storage. Led by Technip Energies in partnership with GE Vernova and Balfour Beatty, this landmark project will deliver up to 742 MW of low-carbon electricity—enough to power over 1 million UK homes—while capturing up to 2 million tonnes of CO₂ annually.
Role Overview
As a
Site Materials Construction Buyer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement and delivery of construction materials to support the successful execution of the NZT Power project. You will work closely with engineering, construction, and supply chain teams to manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and maintain material flow aligned with project timelines and sustainability goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Source, negotiate, and procure construction materials in line with project specifications and budget
- Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of materials to site
- Evaluate supplier performance and reliability, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards
- Maintain accurate procurement records, delivery schedules, and cost reports
- Support the project estimator and commercial team with material cost forecasting and reporting
- Resolve supply chain issues and adapt procurement strategies to mitigate risks
- Ensure alignment with Technip Energies’ sustainability and local content objectives
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction procurement, ideally on large-scale infrastructure or energy projects
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, supply chain logistics, and vendor management
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills
- Familiarity with carbon capture, power generation, or industrial construction projects is a plus
- Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems
- Ability to work on-site in Teesside and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
