BTNO project in Ipswich. We're looking for a hands-on leader who ensures operational excellence and safety in all aspects of cabling activities.

Your Role
Responsibilities
As Site Supervisor, you will play a key role in supporting safe, efficient, and timely delivery of cabling works on site. You will be responsible for:
- Ensuring operatives are fully trained and competent to carry out tasks safely and efficiently
- Managing the use of appropriate plant, equipment, and materials
- Partnering with Site Engineers and Site Manager to deliver the project to programme
- Identifying and resolving delivery challenges to maintain momentum
- Maintaining a strong focus on health, safety, and quality standards
What you'll be doing
- Assist the Engineer in carrying out weekly inspections of all plant, lifting equipment and recording on the appropriate forms.
- Ensure Permit to Work near Existing Services documentation is clearly and correctly carried out for all ground breaking activities related to construction works.
- Ensure the Engineer has all necessary information to arrange on site security as required.
- Ensure site records are handed over to the Engineer for final records to be produced in a timely manner
- Ensure Balfour Beatty’s Code of Conduct is thoroughly understood, adhered to and promoted across the business to ensure safe, compliant and consistent working practices
- The Supervisor must establish morning and evening Meeting Points for all operatives to meet and be briefed in safety matters, toolbox talks, scope of work activities, register attendance/absence and to ensure all operatives have left the site at the end of the day.
- Any other duties deemed necessary by the Site Delivery or Engineer to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the project.
- Liaise with the Project Manager and/or Site Engineer to ensure a timely requisition for sufficient plant and equipment is made, giving adequate notice to Resources.
- Ensure all site personnel have the correct authorisations to operate plant or receive permits.
- Ensure that all externally sourced services (Trak way, footbridges etc) are in place prior to site activities starting.
- Be responsible for the operatives time sheets being filled in correctly, showing the daily progress, operatives names, rates, works numbers, hours worked, plant and vehicles (hired and BB owned) utilised and work carried out.
- Ensure operative holiday forms are correctly filled in and submitted in a timely manner to Engineers.
- Show clear and visible leadership and display the right leadership behaviours
- Develop and support the operational teams to be successful by talking positively, listening actively and encouraging constantly
- Carry out MSR (Management Safety Representative) checks of working practices at site in conjunction with the Clients nominated MSR.
- Communicate to the Engineer where problems are likely to be encountered throughout the project.

Who we're looking for
The Following Qualities/experience Are Essential
- Previous experience of the construction and delivery of Overhead Line, Cabling or Substation schemes up to 400kV
- Experience in implementing safe systems of work
- Effective Communication Skills
- Excellent relationship management skills
- Ability to lead, develop and motivate a team for success
- Holds a current driving license
The Following Qualities/experience Are Desirable
- Commercial awareness with knowledge of both budgetary and financial control
- Good understanding of current safety legislation
The Candidate Is Likely To Have The Following
- Holds CSCS and SSSTS or Equivalent
