How do you ensure high levels of safety and quality across various sites?
This is more than just a job—it’s your opportunity to shape the future of the UK’s electricity network. In this key role, you’ll help expand and strengthen the grid to connect and transport more renewable and low-carbon energy to homes and businesses. Keeping the lights on and society moving.
As a National Grid Representative, you’ll oversee a range of construction-based projects (£100k - £10m) such as HV transformer and shunt reactor installations to cable replacements, cyber security upgrades, and protection and control system replacements across the North West – from Lancashire, North Wales, Manchester and Cheshire. With a company vehicle, paid travel, and a strong work-life balance culture, you’ll have the support you need to thrive. You will be expected to stay away from home from time to time i.e., sometimes but not regularly, although this can vary depending on the location of projects at any one time.
Your expertise will ensure that site-based construction activities—whether delivered by our principal contractors or National Grid’s internal teams—are managed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. You’ll champion safety and quality, support site teams in meeting CDM regulations, help with plant and equipment procurement, conduct regular safety audits, and lead coordination meetings during project delivery. You’ll also contribute to scheme development by completing site visit reports and facilitating site visits with designers. And also includes acting as a Principal Contractor/Site Manager as required to support delivery which is also great for your development.
If you’re passionate about driving impactful projects and being part of a team that’s shaping the UK’s energy future, we’d love to hear from you.
