Job Description Summary
About the Role
We’re excited to offer an opportunity for a Social Sustainability Intern to join our London office for a four-month period, with a possibility to extend. We’re looking for an organised, proactive, and motivated individual who shares our strategic ambition to “leave society in a better place.” This role is ideal for someone who is eager to gain hands-on experience in the renewable energy sector and is passionate about sustainability and social justice.
We operate with a hybrid working model with 3 days at the office and 2 days remote working.
Job Description
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be part of our Sustainability and Stakeholder Engagement Team, working closely with our Sustainability Strategy Manager and collaborating with colleagues across the UK, France, Italy, Portugal, and Spain. This is a great opportunity to gain exposure to a wide range of sustainability initiatives, supporting efforts that deliver meaningful social impact across our operations.
Responsibilities
This role will contribute directly to projects focused on community engagement and sustainable procurement, and your responsibilities are likely to include but are not limited to:
- Playing a key role in shaping our new Community Engagement Procedure, helping us define how we engage with and support the communities that host our renewable energy projects
- Supporting the trial of innovative new initiatives designed to deliver lasting value to the communities local to our sites
- Helping design a new Sustainable Procurement Procedure to further integrate sustainability impact into our purchasing decisions
- Developing strategies to increase local procurement and drive economic benefits in the regions where we operate
- Contributing to the creation of impactful key performance indicators and targets, helping us measure and improve the success of our social sustainability work
Qualifications And Requirements
- University degree (a related field is preferred but not required)
- Highly organised with a structured approach to work
- Proactive in contributing ideas and opportunities for improvement
- Self-motivated and eager to expand knowledge in the field
- Excellent communication skills
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
- Strong analytical abilities
- Able to work regularly from our London office
- Willing to travel as required
