Contract Type: Permanent
Working Pattern: 36 hours per week
Social workers in this team work creatively to support young people, adopting a range of approaches, including direct one to one work and group work. You will be involved in the assessment and management of risk and need, supporting young people to engage with a range of supports available in their communities and empowering young people to become active and responsible citizens.
You will support young people to develop the skills, knowledge and networks they need to live interdependent lives. You will deliver support that is trauma informed.
You will work closely with young people to ensure they are safeguarded where there are complex risks and needs.
You will support young people to navigate the asylum process in the UK and support the implementation of the UASC Strategy in Fife. You will also contribute to work which will support the implementation of the Promise in Fife.
You will be responsible for supporting planning for young people and work collaboratively with a range of multi-agency partners to achieve positive outcomes for young people and families.
You will perform a pathway co-ordinator role to young people leaving care or seeking asylum in the UK.
You will attend a wide range of meetings where you will be responsible for communicating clear assessments and supporting the development of SMART plans.
You will provide financial assistance to young people in line with entitlement and Fife Council's procedures.
The position will involve lone working and require an ability to travel throughout Fife.
The Person
Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
As this role requires SSSC registration, the successful applicant will have three months to apply for registration.
If appointed, you must start your application as soon as possible so you're registered within the required six months.
If you need to achieve a qualification to maintain your SSSC membership, information will be provided if you are appointed. You must ensure you complete the qualification within the specified timeframe.
