Job Title: Soft Services Manager

Location: Defra, Weybridge

Reports to: Senior Workplace Manager

Division: ISS Government

The Role:

We’re looking for a Soft Services Manager to lead and elevate soft services at our Defra Weybridge site. You will be the go-to expert for service delivery, ensuring cleaning, grounds maintenance, reception, pest control, fleet, and mail services exceed expectations. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll inspire a team of around 30 staff, drive continuous improvement, and enhance workplace experience for everyone on site.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead day-to-day soft services operations, ensuring compliance and excellence
Manage and develop a team of 30 staff, covering HR, performance, training, and engagement

Deliver audits, HSE documentation, and compliance reporting

Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance services

Build strong relationships with Defra stakeholders, colleagues, suppliers, and ISS teams

Support site coordination, bookings, purchase orders, and invoice approvals

Maintain a safe, clean, and well-presented workplace, addressing issues proactively

What Success Looks Like:

Noticeable improvement in soft services delivery, team performance, and stakeholder perception
Consistently meet or exceed agreed service levels
Strong, collaborative relationships with employees, clients, and suppliers
A motivated, engaged, and high-performing site team

About You:

5+ years’ experience in a demanding FM or soft services environment
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Experience in high-profile sites and cleaning/BISC standards
Microsoft Office proficient and confident managing multiple priorities

Flexible, innovative, and able to support the team when needed

Qualifications (preferred, not mandatory):

First Aid trained (EFAW minimum)
IOSH qualification
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Driving license
