Software Engineer

Role Summary

We are looking to hire a Software Engineer in the Client Engineering team at FINBOURNE who work directly with our pre and post sales clients (who range from small start-up hedge funds to multi-national financial service providers) to understand their business problems and use cases. They then combine this with a detailed understanding of our products to help the clients to make best use of the opportunities offered by LUSID and Luminesce. Client Engineering are also involved in build-outs of client-specific capability and integrations, working directly with client stakeholders.

In this role you will have the opportunity to make kay contributions to the future of the product and shape how our clients interact with LUSID. This is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate who enjoys working closely with and building relationships with clients, working in the financial services domain, as well as building technology-based solutions. In this role, you will get broad exposure to the business, work across a varied technology stack, and be given lots of responsibility early on in your career.

Key Responsibilities

• As part of the Client Engineering team at FINBOURNE, you will be working alongside our clients and our Sales, Client Implementation and Engineering teams to help clients make the best use of our LUSID and Luminesce products.
• This will involve crafting innovative solutions using LUSID, taking ownership of the full software development lifecycle (gathering requirements, designing, planning and managing the implementing of the solution) to solve client-specific use cases and integrations, explaining the product to the client, delivering technical content and training as well as. In some cases, it might require very close alignment with technology teams at our clients to ensure that they can get up to speed with our products quickly.
• Our aim is to provide a world-class client experience; therefore, we are looking for a candidate who has a relentless focus on customer service and a desire to deeply understand client issues. As part of the Client Engineering team, you will play a key role in building a community of LUSID users, providing excellent product support to our clients, and be an active participant in our open-source communities.

Skills and Experience

• 4+ years of commercial experience using C#
• Excellent SQL and database querying skills (our Luminesce product is powered by an SQLite-like query language)
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) to be able to clearly define and articulate solutions with both technical and non-technical audiences
• Analytical mindset with the drive to be self-sufficient in getting the job done
• Exposure to some Python will be desirable but not mandatory.
• Exposure to financial data will be a nice to have but not mandatory.
