🚀 Contract Software Engineer – AR/VR – Python – Meta Reality Labs

📍 Location: Onsite 5 days/week – Cambridge, UK

🕒 Duration: 12 months | 💰 Bonus: 15%

Meta's Reality Labs team is building the future of AR/VR tech – from smart glasses to immersive sound systems.

We're looking for a Software Engineer (Contract) to support our Audio Research Team in building robust data collection systems that power next-gen wearable devices.

What You’ll Do

• Develop backend systems in Python (FastAPI, REST APIs)
• Work with experimental audio/video hardware
• Ensure accurate and reliable data capture in the lab
• Collaborate with researchers, hardware teams, and engineers
• Troubleshoot and maintain onsite lab systems

What We’re Looking For

✅ 8+ years experience

✅ Strong Python, FastAPI, Linux/shell scripting

✅ Comfortable debugging systems in-lab

✅ Familiarity with hardware sensors or multimedia data (a big plus)

🧠 Bonus: React, databases (SQL/NoSQL), AV tech experience
