Our Tax Technology team is dynamic and fast-paced team, offering ample scope for progression and the chance to make a significant impact on RSM nationally, with potential to influence on a global scale driving the digital transformation within the Tax business.
As a Software Solutions Manager – Tax Technology in our Birmingham or London office, , you will play a pivotal role in leading the development of our internal-focused solutions for our Tax Team. You will oversee the end-to-end delivery of multiple tax technology solutions, working closely with our specialist data analytics, data visualisation, and automation teams to deliver high-quality and technically robust outcomes.
You will make an impact by:
- Lead and coordinate all stages of solution development, from raw idea generation through concept refinement, development, and final rollout to end users.
- Being responsible for overseeing automations, process improvements, robustness enhancements, research into emerging technologies, testing, and identifying innovations beneficial to the tax department. Additionally, you will lead training initiatives to upskill our tax department in leveraging available technologies.
- Collaborating with our established data analytics community to ensure technical knowledge and commercial insight are shared and capitalised on to drive new ideas and enhanced solutions across the Tax Team.
- Being proactive in leading and strategically managing a portfolio of projects. communicating effectively with others to enable you to drive strategic impact both within the team and nationally across all RSM Tax service lines.
- Allowing junior employees to learn and develop by drawing on your leadership and expertise.
What we are looking for:

We value diverse experiences and perspectives. Here’s what we’re looking for in our ideal candidate:
- Experience in the technology field with a Data Analytics or Data Science background and understanding oftax compliance processes
- Strong knowledge of Python and SQL for data analytics
- Experience with managing junior members of staff
- Proficiency with typical business technologies such as MS Office.
- ATT or equivalent technical qualification
- Alteryx experience and Alteryx certification
- Experience with relational database design and best practice
- Familiarity with Agile development
- Experience of Power BI or other data visualisation products
- Strong understanding of classical ML algorithms
- Experience in developing technologies (AI, ML, RPA, etc)
