Position: Software Test Engineer

Location: Enfield, United Kingdom

Hybrid: 3 days in office

Right to Work: Cannot provide sponsorship

Job Scope

The Software Test Engineer is responsible for building and testing software to support products and services within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Build and test software to support products and services.
Produce and maintain software build and test specifications.
Act as a technical liaison with customers and collaborators on software-related matters.
Contribute to improving software testability.
Undertake additional project tasks as required by management.
Perform any other tasks associated with this role.

Requirements

Strong technical background.
Excellent communication skills.
Proficient in PC usage and MS Office.
Good understanding of the Software Engineering Lifecycle, particularly test and integration.
Knowledge of scripting/programming languages for automating builds and testing.
Willingness to travel occasionally, including sailing with ships in the UK and abroad.

Experience

Minimum 1 year of practical experience testing software for PCs running Windows.
Experience writing test plans, specifications, and reports.
Experience building software and creating installers (desirable).
Previous experience in a similar role within a technical or engineering organization (preferred).

Qualifications

A good Engineering degree with software content or equivalent. Lower qualifications may be considered if supported by relevant experience.
