Solar Project/Construction Manager

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Solar Project Manager / Construction Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of rooftop commercial solar PV projects. This individual will manage all phases of the project lifecycle—from design coordination through procurement, construction, and commissioning—ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

• Oversee the end-to-end delivery of rooftop/commercial solar PV projects (50kWp to 5MWp+).
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and risk management plans.
• Manage project documentation including permits, inspections, and compliance records.
• Coordinate across design, procurement, and construction teams for seamless delivery.
• Liaise with clients, suppliers, DNOs (distribution network operators), and subcontractors.

Construction Oversight

• Act as site lead during construction—overseeing all trades and ensuring quality control.
• Conduct pre-construction site assessments, layout planning, and safety assessments.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations on-site.
• Monitor installation progress and resolve technical or logistical issues.
• Approve works against design specifications and ensure system performance KPIs are met.

Stakeholder & Client Management

• Serve as the primary contact for clients throughout the construction phase.
• Provide regular progress updates and manage expectations regarding timelines and deliverables.
• Coordinate with grid operators and local authorities for approvals and connections.

Commissioning & Handover

• Ensure proper testing, commissioning, and system verification before handover.
• Prepare and submit final as-built documentation and client O&M manuals.
• Support the transition to the Operations & Maintenance team post-handover.

Requirements

Essential

• 5–8 years of experience in solar project delivery or construction management, particularly in rooftop/commercial solar.
• Strong knowledge of PV systems, AC/DC wiring, inverters, mounting systems, and relevant codes.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, timelines, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience with HSE policies, RAMS (Risk Assessment & Method Statements), and CDM regulations.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

Preferred

• Electrical or Renewable Energy degree or equivalent technical qualification.
• SMSTS / SSSTS or NEBOSH certification.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, PVsyst, or project scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
• Knowledge of battery storage, EV charging, or hybrid systems is a plus.
