Due to continued growth DAC Beachcroft is expanding in all areas and is looking to appoint a 3+ year PQE Solicitor or Associate to join our Claims Solutions Property Recovery team.
The Property Recovery team is one of the products within the Property Service Line of the firm's Claims Solutions Group, which is based in Belfast, Birmingham, Glasgow, Manchester and Newport. The team provides advice, claims management services and litigation to the insurance industry. This is a Claimant team, working with Property damage insurance recoveries, covering a range of perils including fire, flood, impact and escape of water. We have a large, loyal and expanding client base.
This particular role is in the Product's higher value (typically over £100k) team and will comprise of running a case load of high value/complex recovery claims alongside supervising a team of lawyers. There will also be client responsibilities and opportunities to get involved in business development across the Recoveries product.
Whilst the role will be aligned to our Birmingham office, the position is "location blind" and we will happily consider applications regardless of the candidate's location.
What you will do?
You will demonstrate a successful track record and ability to excel in the following areas:
- Acting for a number of large commercial / insurer clients in multi-track property insurance litigation disputes
- Handling a varied workload in accordance with insurer client protocols
- Exercise full compliance with Client and internal protocols for billing and credit control and demonstrate a high level of financial management in respect of own files
- Supporting marketing and business development activities within the team
- Maintaining an awareness of the firm's core strategies and aims. Handling confidential information in line with the firms data security protocols
You will also have the opportunity to become involved in marketing and client facing activities in order to build the business and your career.
This is an expanding business with good opportunities for career progression.

- Understands financial drivers of the business as a basis for commercial decisions e.g. cost base, revenue v profit, gross/net margin, business case cost benefit analysis.
- Negotiates and acts tactically and strategically to close deals with the best commercial outcomes
- Ensures that the latest technical thinking and industry trends are applied.
- Sees and responds to opportunities and challenges in the best interests of the business and the client.
- Promotes a culture of excellence and puts the clients at the heart of everything we do.
- Proactively provides information and market data that might affect the client’s needs.
