Purpose:
The Solution Architect, reporting to the Principal Architect, is responsible for designing and overseeing the implementation of technology solutions tailored to meet specific business requirements. This position requires a solid understanding of healthcare processes and the capability to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions. Strong analytical skills and the ability to develop innovative approaches that improve patient care and optimize operations are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Solution Design: Collaborate with domain SMEs to develop architectural design proposals that fulfill business requirements and align with the overarching IT strategy. Ensure proposed solutions are scalable, maintainable, and capable of adapting to evolving healthcare demands. Leverage expertise across cloud, network, data, software, and security domains.
- Collaboration: Partner with business analysts, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of solutions. Promote cross-departmental communication and collaboration to ensure technical solutions are aligned with business goals.
- Integration: Design, advise on, and implement integration strategies for various healthcare systems, enabling seamless data exchange and system interoperability. Resolve compatibility challenges and develop effective integration approaches. Ensure all solutions include appropriate security measures.
- Documentation: Produce detailed technical documentation, including architectural diagrams, design specifications, and user manuals. Maintain thorough records to support system maintenance and future enhancements. Document solutions across Business, Data, Application, Technology, and Security domains.
- Continuous Improvement: Keep current with emerging technologies and industry developments, recommending enhancements to existing systems and practices. Engage in professional learning and industry forums to maintain expertise. Drive continuous improvements across Business, Data, Application, Technology, and Security domains.
- Quality Assurance: Verify that all solutions undergo rigorous testing and meet defined quality standards before deployment. Establish testing frameworks and perform regular audits to ensure reliability and performance. Integrate security and compliance checks into all testing activities. Work closely with the Principal Architect to ensure quality through the TDA process.
- Technical Guidance: Offer technical leadership and support throughout the project lifecycle, from concept through to deployment and ongoing maintenance. Collaborate with technical teams and domain SMEs to develop and implement effective solutions, applying cross-domain expertise to ensure solution robustness.
Skills and Experience:
- 5–7 years of experience in IT solution design and architecture, with 10+ years in a technical infrastructure or software development role within a Microsoft environment.
- Significant experience designing and delivering complex technical solutions in enterprise-scale environments.
- Experience in the healthcare industry is desirable, with familiarity in healthcare processes, systems, and standards (e.g., DSPT, CAF, NIST, NHS guidelines).
- Proven expertise in solution architecture, particularly for healthcare IT systems.
- Strong understanding of cloud computing, infrastructure, identity management, EUC, networks, business systems, and integration technologies.
- Skilled in designing solutions across the Microsoft technology stack (e.g., Azure, Microsoft 365).
- Extensive experience applying Security by Design principles and developing secure solutions.
- Proficient in architectural and technical documentation with strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
- Ability to contribute technical insights to strategic planning and technology roadmaps.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive mindset with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deliver effectively in fast-paced environments.
- Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert are a plus.
