We are seeking an intellectually curious and proficient Technology Solution Architect to join the FTSE-Russell Index Engineering team of
London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) based in our London office. The individual in this role will support Business Partners and steer the technical direction of our Index Services. They will provide architectural support as we transition to strategic platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and Advocate for High-Quality Solution Designs: Produce and promote high-quality solution designs and application architectures that align with the Index Platform's architectural principles and strategy.
- Define Target and Transitional Architectures: Produce and present architectural documentation, including HLDs and LLDs, to define solution approaches.
- Collaborate with Engineering Leadership: Partner with members of Engineering leadership to influence the adoption of architectural frameworks, standards, and policies.
- End-to-End Solution Design: Collaborate with other teams to define the end-to-end solution and design, including all involved systems, data, integration, and security requirements.
- Analyse Business Requirements: Analyse business requirements to identify flexible and pragmatic design changes to development and production architecture.
- Technical Consultancy: Act as a technical consultant providing technical knowledge, coaching/mentoring, leveraging knowledge of industry trends.
- Balance Business Drivers and Design Integrity: Understand the balance between business drivers, delivery timelines and the purity of design.
- Develop Proof of Concepts (PoCs): Facilitate and develop PoCs to demonstrate new concepts or technology choices when required.
- Build Relationships with Group Functions: Work closely with group functions such as infrastructure and information security, building relationships and represent the engineering team at relevant architecture governance forums.
Qualifications
15+ years of shown experience as Software Solution Architect and significant experience in designing secure AWS Cloud architecture.
Technical / job functional knowledge:
- In-depth knowledge of Solution Architecture, Cloud Architecture, and Security principles.
- Extensive experience in AWS Infrastructure Architecture and Cloud Technology.
- Proficiency in defining and presenting detailed cloud infrastructure architecture diagrams and patterns.
- Significant experience in designing solutions for distributed, highly resilient environments. Expertise in technical documentation, including HLDs and LLDs.
- Extensive experience in integrating enterprise application solutions.
- Strong understanding of information security concerns.
- Experience managing design dependencies within a highly complex matrix-structured organization.
Leadership and management experience:
- Experience in professional people management / technical thought leadership
- The ability to conceptualise holistic architecture solutions that address the needs of an organisation as a whole
- Proficiency in managing and facilitating technological change within the organization.
Personal skills and capabilities:
- Articulate, energetic person able to work alone or as part of a team
- Excellent attention to detail but an ability to think laterally to solve business problems
- Passion to learn both new technologies and business concepts
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to adapt to business, senior stakeholders, analysts, and developers
- Experience of managing or influencing key decision makers
