We are looking for a Solution Architect with experience at the intersection of OT and IT to play a key role delivering bleeding-edge smart places projects.

Your next role

Buro Happold’s Digital Advisory team focuses on delivering technology and information transformation to clients to enhance their financial, environmental, and social performance (the triple-bottom-line, across people, planet and places).

Our projects vary considerably; from defining the smart city technologies that will transform the resident, worker, or visitor experience of a bleeding edge city in the middle east, to developing a sophisticated data-driven 3D twin of a university campus to determine the most effective route to net zero carbon, to outlining how technology can add significant revenue streams across football clubs in the UK, to defining the team, processes and policies required for our clients to manage data quickly and securely. However, all our projects have engineering or ‘real-world’ asset expertise at their core and it is that, with our relentless focus on the triple-bottom-line, that makes us unique.

The team works across a range of consulting areas covering digital strategy and transformation, digital systems and solutions and data and analytics. We are looking for consultants who want to collaborate with other offices, our experts in design, and technologists internally and externally to make a real-world difference.

Our market-leading capability has resulted in the UK Digital Advisory team more than doubling in size over the last year with a strong growth plan and pipeline to continue this trajectory.

Key duties

• Lead day-to-day delivery of client engagements structuring and managing the workstreams and supervising delivery
• Manage (plan-do-review) workstreams across areas such as digital strategy or digital transformation for some of the world's most iconic projects and clients, owning the day-to-day client relationship as well as the team’s performance and wellbeing – a critical role within the team.
• Develop and manage workstreams to deliver the client brief and /or outcome agreed in proposal.
• Define end-to-end smart place architectures, integrating IoT, digital twins, data paltforms, building systems and cloud services.

Your skills & experience

Essential

• Digital architecture, design, strategy, transformation or system integration related to Smart Places (cities, buildings, campuses, etc).
• Experience with and passion for technology in the urban environment, specifically within sport stadia & venues and/or smart cities or districts is significantly desirable.
• Experience designing interoperable systems across IT/OT layers, including applications and middleware, either as a solution architect or a lead designer.
• Knowledge of IoT platforms, cloud services, sensor technologies, edge computing and data architecture.
• Experience leading consulting engagements with strong client management skills.
• Ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong proficiency in Excel and Powerpoint with good presentation skills.
• Relevant digital or business (CA, ACA, MBA) professional qualification would be beneficial.

Desirable

• Familiarity with Digital Twins, real-time data platforms, analytics and automation.
• Understanding of cybersecurity, networking and ICT infrastructure.
