Solutions Architect

Solution Architect (Billing Platform) - Circa £700 per day Inside IR35 - Financial Services

We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect to lead the design and future evolution of a billing platform within a complex enterprise landscape. This role is key to driving simplification, enabling business-led configuration, and ensuring the architecture supports long-term scalability and efficiency.

Working closely with stakeholders across business, technology, and project delivery, the successful candidate will help define and deliver a secure, maintainable, and flexible billing solution aligned with enterprise goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse and document the current-state architecture, data flows, and integrations across systems such as CRM, ERP, and HR platforms.
• Collaborate with business and delivery teams to define outcomes and shape the solution vision aligned to strategic objectives.
• Produce a Solution Vision Document evaluating architectural options and setting direction.
• Design and maintain high-level architecture diagrams that illustrate the target-state architecture.
• Work with technical teams to validate and guide low-level design and implementation.
• Evaluate and recommend business rule engines and supporting technologies that align with enterprise standards.
• Serve as the primary architectural liaison across business, project, and platform stakeholders.
• Ensure architectural decisions support security, compliance, scalability, and operational excellence.

Key Technologies & Platforms (Current Environment)

• Core Applications: Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Customer Service), Workday
• Integration & Messaging: Azure Service Bus, NServiceBus
• Business Rules Engine: Oracle Policy Automation (OPA)
• Preferred Experience With: Low-code platforms, modern business rules engines, and integration platforms

Skills & Experience

• Demonstrated experience as a Solution Architect within complex enterprise environments.
• Deep understanding of billing, invoicing, and associated financial workflows.
• Ability to design solutions that enable business configuration of rules and logic for billing processes.
• Familiarity with asynchronous messaging, event-driven architectures, and service-based design.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills at both business and technical levels.
