Job Title: Solutions Architect

Job Type: Contract

Location: Remote (very limited travel to data centers required when needed)

Day Rate: £400/day (OUTSIDE IR35)

Contract Length: 6 months

Solutions Architect - Role & Responsibilities

Define and drive architecture strategy across IT systems, BSS platforms, and service operations platforms supporting Lead-to-Cash and Order-to-Cash processes.
Design end-to-end solutions and integration architectures using API-first and event-driven patterns to connect BSS systems, operational platforms, and NaaS capabilities.
Lead platform modernisation and application portfolio optimisation, including vendor rationalisation and strategic keep/modernise/retire decisions.
Establish operational excellence and automation, implementing observability, AIOps, and process automation to improve service delivery, cost-to-serve, and operational efficiency.
Provide technical leadership and governance, mentoring engineers and architects, driving architecture reviews, and ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and long-term transformation goals.

Solutions Architect - Required Experience

5+ years experience in software architecture, solution architecture, or systems engineering within large-scale enterprise environments.
Strong expertise in telecom BSS/OSS and operational platforms, including domains such as billing, order management, product catalogue, service operations, and inventory systems.
Deep knowledge of integration and distributed systems, including API design (OpenAPI/REST), event-driven architectures, and messaging platforms such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
Experience designing scalable architectures across cloud, hybrid, and on-prem environments, with familiarity in modern cloud-native patterns.
Hands-on technical background with experience in backend development (e.g., Python, Java, or C++) and strong understanding of data modelling, system integration, and platform modernisation.
