Job Role: Solutions Field CTO – Enterprise SaaS - Cloud SaaS for UK Accountancy Firms

Acting Office is a London-based software company redefining how accountancy firms operate. We are disrupting the accounting software market by replacing fragmented, legacy systems with a fully cloud-based, end-to-end SaaS platform that runs the entire firm.
Our market-ready platform brings together CRM, practice management, workflow, client onboarding, work
delivery, compliance, and advisory into a single, integrated operating system for medium to large UK accountancy firms.
We are now looking for a commercially credible Solutions Field CTO to act as the senior technical and platform authority in enterprise sales, customer engagement, and solution design.
This is a front-line, customer-facing leadership role, not a traditional internal CTO position.
Role Description
As Solutions Field CTO, you will be the technical face of the platform in enterprise sales cycles, customer
boardrooms, conferences, and strategic engagements. You will work alongside commercial leadership to help prospective customers understand, adopt, and replace incumbent practice management, tax, and workflow systems with Acting Office.
You will lead solution architecture, technical assurance, and platform positioning across the full customer lifecycle -from early-stage sales conversations through onboarding, migration, and post-go-live optimisation. You will also act as the senior bridge between customer reality and product delivery, shaping platform priorities in collaboration with offshore product and engineering teams based in north-west India (Rajasthan).
What You Will Be Accountable For
• Acting as the senior technical authority in enterprise sales, pre-sales, and customer engagements
• Supporting complex sales cycles through solution design, platform demonstrations, and technical validation
• Presenting at conferences, events, and customer forums as a credible platform and industry expert
• Leading solution architecture for system replacement, integration, and data migration
• Working directly with customers to translate operational and commercial needs into platform requirements
• Partnering with product and delivery teams to align roadmap priorities with market demand
• Acting as the bridge between sales, customers, and offshore delivery teams
• Ensuring the platform is positioned as a scalable, secure, enterprise-grade business system
• Maintaining confidence with senior stakeholders, including partners, directors, and boards
Who This Role Is For
You are likely to be successful in this role if you are currently, or have been:
• A Solutions Director, Principal Solutions Architect, or Field CTO in a SaaS business
• Operating in enterprise or upper mid-market sales environments
• Comfortable selling complex, business-critical platforms rather than point solutions
• Credible in front of senior commercial, operational, and technical stakeholders
• Experienced in customer-facing SaaS delivery, onboarding, and system replacement
• Confident working with offshore or distributed product and engineering teams
Experience in accountancy, tax, finance, or professional services software is desirable but not essential.

• Pure internal CTO or Head of Engineering profiles

• Technologists who prefer to stay behind the scenes
• Individuals focused solely on internal systems or code ownership
