We currently have an opportunity for a highly motivated, enthusiastic specialist clinical pharmacist (band 8a) to join our team. The post holder will be part of the wider clinical pharmacy team providing pharmacy services to patients across all disease groups but will work predominantly within the gynaecological oncology disease group supervising Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapies for patients with ovarian, endometrial, and cervical cancers.
The post holder will be accountable for the delivery of specialist clinical pharmacy services, supporting the cancer disease group in conjunction with other specialist gynaecological disease group pharmacists, and have an active role in the outpatient clinic setting with regards to prescribing. As such the postholder must ideally possess an independent prescribing qualification or at least be working towards this qualification
We have numerous pharmacist- led SACT clinics, including PARP inhibitor clinics within the gynaecological disease group. The postholder will have an integral role within the MDT team and contribute to service delivery, new initiatives and development / review of drug protocols including new NICE approved SACT within the disease group.
The Pharmacy Department actively supports several collaborative projects alongside several research partners and has strong links with the University of Manchester. Several members of our staff have undertaken post graduate training, research and other secondment opportunities and we are keen to support further opportunities.
If you are enthusiastic and keen to make a positive contribution to the care of cancer patients, we would like to hear from you.

We provide radiotherapy through one of the largest radiotherapy departments in the world; chemotherapy on site and through 14 other hospitals; highly specialist surgery for complex and rare cancer; and a wide range of support and diagnostic services. We are also an international leader in research, with world first breakthroughs for over 100 years.
We run one of the largest early clinical trial units in Europe with over 300 trials every year. Cancer research in Manchester, most of which is undertaken on the Christie site, has been officially ranked the best in the UK.
