The team at FGH have worked incredibly hard to develop high quality Stroke services and have been rightly proud to achieve and maintain a rating of “A” under the old Stroke Sentinel National Audit Programme (SSNAP) system. In doing so, the team at FGH have also developed strong links with regional teams as part of the Lancashire and South Cumbria Stroke Network. Monitoring to support and further improve the service is carried out by means of Weekly Stroke Breach meetings, peer mortality reviews, monthly Stroke governance meetings and close adherence to the SSNAP criteria. Recent changes to the SSNAP scoring criteria have created a new challenge for the Team at FGH to improve even further in pursuit of regaining their “A” grade status, a rating which was regularly achieved under the previous SSNAP scoring metric.
Opportunity to become Clinical Lead for the Stroke is also available for interested candidates with the right experience.
